About Mrs. Borders
This is my fourtheenth year of teaching in Gwinnett county, and my third year here at Level Creek! I have a variety of teaching and educational leadership experience that includes instructional coach, EIP teacher, K-5 literacy specialist, 5th grade science and social studies teacher, as well as 3rd grade.
I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Walden University. I also have a Georgia Certificate in Educational Leadership which I earned after attending the University of West Georgia in 2009.
I was born and raised right here in Georgia, and went through the Gwinnett county school system myself as a student (Hopkins ES, Minor ES, Sweetwater MS, and Berkmar HS)! I have been married to my high school sweetheart, a military veteran named Eric for fourteen years now. Together we have three amazing children; a twelve-year-old daughter named Tavye, an eight-year-old son named Rylan, and a three-year-old miracle preemie princess named Emry. The three of them keep the both of us VERY busy, but are the absolute lights of our lives!
In my spare time (HA! Like I have a lot of that these days), I LOVE to create personal photo books on Shutterfly.com, catch up on some good ol' scrapbooking, or hanging out on the couch watching movies! Most weeknights though, our family can be found either at a basketball, softball, or baseball practice and/or game. And our weekends are usually filled with games, tournaments, games, and more tournaments! :)

My Philosophy of Education
It is my belief that all students can learn, and that every child needs to be consistently encouraged in order to reach their maximum potential in every aspect of learning. Students should be provided an active and open environment with adequate support and praise in order to reach this level of personal success. I also believe that it is the responsibility of the child's entire community to provide the support needed. As your child's teacher, I will do all that I can to ensure that each of my students reach and/or excel beyond his/her individual learning goals.
