Additional Communication
AGENDA BOOKS:
The students should bring home their LCES agenda books on a daily basis. This agenda book will indicate the day's homework, lesson objectives, and any other miscellaneous information that needs to be brought to your attention. I make my way around the classroom each afternoon just before dismissal in order to give a check reflecting your child's behavior for the day. You can find this mark at the very bottom of today's column. A check plus represents an excellent day, a check stands for an okay day, and a check minus might mean that your child had a rough day following directions. Please either sign or initial this agenda daily in order to keep in close contact with me. Feel free to also jot me a note in this area if need be.
FRIDAY FOLDERS:
Parents/Guardians should expect a Friday folder and a conduct card to be sent home on a weekly basis as well. These Friday folders will contain your child's class work, homework, tests, quizzes, as well as other information being sent home by the front office. Parents should review the contents of this Friday folder in a detailed manner, and sign the sheet that can be found in the back view window. Please return these folders with your child Monday.
CONDUCT CARDS:
Conduct cards will come home every Friday afternoon and should also be reviewed. Please return this Monday inside of the Friday folders.
WORK:
Not everything that we do within the classroom will be graded. Some work may come home with a simple check plus, check, check minus, or some other indication that I have reviewed the work. There are times though that you may find assignments that have a pink sticker or stamp on them that say, "Please sign and return." These are usually given out for failing grades. This is my way of making sure that you are monitoring your child's academic progress. If these come home in your child's Friday folder, they are also expected to be returned to school the following Monday. Please know that you are encouraged to review any and/or all material that comes home with your child regardless of the grade (if one has been given) they have received.

Management Plan
All students are expected to follow our school and classroom rules at all times. Students who choose not to follow directions, and are disrupting the learning environment for others, will receive a consequence for their poor choices. They may be asked to move their clip down from green to yellow, and/or from yellow to red. Students who move their clip down, will then receive either a check (for yellow) or a check minus (for red) in their agenda book as their daily conduct grade.
Everyone makes mistakes, and each day is a new beginning for a fresh start. Please understand that I DO NOT mark conduct cards, send home notes, or make phone calls home regarding conduct before adequately giving multiple warnings and/or conferencing with that child one-on-one in regards to their behavior.
